To use editing on Android I’m afraid there is much more work involved than recompiling…

There is as yet no jni interface for the large edit api (this is far from trivial) and it will need substantial java development work to make the Android sample app demonstrate editing. There is still a lot of work required to attain a reasonable demonstrable subset of generic editing on the iOS platform. Generic MusicXML score editing via a clean API is a huge thorny problem that is not going to be solved overnight! Android support will not be attempted until there is some sort of complete implementation on another (probably Apple) platform.
